Points of Interest

For several years, BRTRC has supported all areas of strategic communications for this client to include providing design and editorial support and a complete redesign for Army Acquisition, Logistics and Technology (AL&T) Magazine — the premier magazine of the U.S. Army acquisition community. BRTRC is part of an editorial staff that handles the content and design of each issue. The magazine is published quarterly and distributed to nearly 10,000 subscribers, including U.S. Army senior leadership. It features bylined articles centered on a different theme each issue for the overall purpose of instructing members of the U.S. Army acquisition workforce relative to AL&T processes, procedures, techniques, and management philosophy and to disseminate other information pertinent to their professional development. A team of our finest designers, writers, and editors completely redesigned the look and feel of the magazine and added information that is relevant to its readers. Based on the results of a readership survey, our client received positive feedback on the revamped magazine, specifically on the look and editorial direction. Additionally, BRTRC developed a Web version of the magazine with supplemental articles that are related to each issue’s theme in order to broaden readership and provide easy accessibility to readers. Our team continues to work diligently to create a magazine that is visually and intellectually appealing to senior leaders and warfighters alike.

AWARD-WINNER

The Secretary of the Army recognized this publication with the Army Editor of the Year Award. It also received the Communicator Award for Print Media Excellence in 2006 and the Communicator Award of Distinction in the Print/Magazine Cover Design category in 2008. The Communicator Awards is the leading international awards program honoring creative excellence for Communications Professionals. The publication also won the Hermes Awards’ Platinum Award in the Design/Overall Publication category in 2008. The Hermes Creative Awards is an international competition for creative professionals involved in the concept, writing, and design of traditional materials and programs, and emerging technologies.
